Create USER in ORACLE

In this tutorial, We will learn how can you create User in Oracle.

We n the ed DBA account to create the users in Oracle. Each database user is assigned a unique username.

 

Users will log into the database using that username, and have logged in, users can issue various database SQL statements to create objects, query objects and manage the database.

 

Create User in ORACLE

The Oracle create user command is used to create database user accounts. When creating a user account with the Oracle create user command you can:

  • Define User Name

  • Define Password associated with Database_user

  • Define the Table Space for user

  • Assign attribute to the user account

 

SQL Syntax :

SQL > CREATE USER myuser IDENTIFIED BY password

           DEFAULT TABLESPACE users

           TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp

           QUOTA UNLIMITED ON users

           QUOTA 100M ON my_data;

 

Create USER Example

Let’s see, how can we create the user in Database. First, you need to log-in with DBA account and then fire the query like mentioned below –

SQL> CREATE USER selenium

          IDENTIFIED BY seleniumbix

          DEFAULT TABLESPACE tbs_sel_01 

          TEMPORARY TABLESPACE tbs_sel_01 QUOTA 20M on tbs_bix_01;
