Install TestNG in Eclipse

In order to compile, run and execute the Unit, Integration Test cases using TestNG in eclipse, first you need to configure TestNG in your eclipse IDE.

As a prerequisite, you must have installed at least Java

JDK 6 (Download Java from here!).

There are few standard steps to setup the TestNG in Eclipse. Please follow the below-mentioned steps to set up the TestNG in Eclipse if already not configured.

    1. Launch your Eclipse IDE.

    2. Click on “Help” menu and Select the option “Install New Software“.

    1. Now a dialog window will open. Here click on the “Add” button.

    1. A new dialog window will open. Here enter the Name (Any Name as you wish) and enter the url “http://beust.com/eclipse” in the location and click on OK button.

    1. It will render you on Accept license window. Now accept the license and click on “Finish” button.

  1. Now downloading and installation will start. It may take some time depends on your internet speed.
  2. In between, it will show you the security warning. Accept this warning and click on “OK” button.
  3. In the last step, it will ask to restart the Eclipse. Accept the alert message and click on “OK” button. Now your eclipse will restart and TestNG has installed in your eclipse successfully.

 

To confirm the installation, You can right click on any available class in your project. Hover the mouse on “Run As…” option. It will show you TestNG option to execute your class.
